When he'd find a beautiful proof, he would say “This one is from The Book!”. Paul Erdös, a prolific mathematician of the 20th century, often talked about “The Book”:Ī book where the most elegant proofs for mathematical theorems had been written by a divinity. One mathematician even took that to an extreme. There are many theorems that can be proven in many different ways,īut mathematicians always try to find the most elegant proof. ![]() Striving to write elegant code might seem weird, but it's not! So, if you want to make a plugin that switches Rebel systems to the Federation, b148 seems to be the way to go. This may be an easy one.I am near the end of the 'slave vel'os missions. Even with a handful of setbacks, the Intercept team has remained optimistic throughout. It's been delayed multiple times and has even had a change in developer, going from Star Theory to Intercept Games. Things have been rocky for this sequel to the acclaimed space travel simulator. Kerbal Space Program 2 has had a lengthy development cycle, dating all the way back to its original reveal back in August 2019. We can’t wait for everyone to play the game, and we’ll keep sharing more information with you in the coming months. We are forever grateful to the KSP community for sticking with us on this journey, and we appreciate your continued support as we push towards the finish line. We have the perfect combination of experienced, passionate, and skilled developers to fully realize this game’s ambitious potential. We’ve built a spectacular team at Intercept Games – a team that includes, as previously mentioned, key members from the development team behind the original Kerbal Space Program. We remain focused on making sure KSP2 performs well on a variety of hardware, has amazing graphics, and is rich with content. We are building a game of tremendous technological complexity, and are taking this additional time to ensure we hit the quality and level of polish it deserves. We have made the difficult decision to move the release date of KSP 2, which will now launch in early 2023 on PC with our console release later that year. Hi everyone – this is Nate Simpson, Creative Director for Kerbal Space Program 2. The following was posted to the Kerbal Space Program forums: ![]() ![]() ![]() On Monday, hours ahead of Take Two Interactive's Q4 2022 earnings results, Creative Director Nate Simpson announced that KSP2 would be delayed once again, this time to 2023. Unfortunately, the Kerbals have hit another snag, as they do, in attempting to breach the gaming atmosphere. It completely changes the way drag and lift are handled, adds correct stall, mach effects, allows to assign, for each control surface, the axis it will work in, contains shitload of simulation tools and data, even has a built in fly-by-wire system which you can enable if you decide to make an F-16 style purposely unstable fighter. It was looking for a while like Kerbal Space Program 2 would be ready for launch in 2022. It's an advanced aerodynamics model for this game. ULA has made, as you can judge by team's name, ULA rockets - Delta IV and Atlas V (there is also a Delta II somewhere arround by another author) while Lionhead team (headed by Yogui) made a lot of ESA rockets as well as Mars Duna rovers' replicas - including Pandora (Curiosity), Prometheus (Oportunity) and Thor (Phoenix) as well as Zeus (Hubble Telescope) and Hermes (Voyager).īut since this is planes' forum, what I truly recomend to everyone here the most is Ferram Aerospace Research mod ULA + Lionhead is good for recreating Mars Duna exploration missions. If you're looking forward to blowing up recreating missions with actual, historical spacecraft, I recommend BobCat's, ULA's and Lionhead Industries' addons - BobCat made Soyuz, Progress, Mir with all modules, Buran, Kliper and LK, all in one pack, as well as whole Constelation Program (early version but still works). KSP is the only for fun space game with actual newtonian orbital mechanics, even if simplified to 1-body problems. Never came to my mid that an actual filght simulator may be a comedy. I switched to this game 2 months ago after 2 years of Orbiter 2010. Instead, it’s very much an action-oriented game, with an emphasis on martial arts-style combat and movement (you can, for example, glide in the air and dash on the surface of water). Although it is free-to-play (however, those eager to commit it to from the start in the UK can choose between three Founder’s Packs, offering different lengths of premium membership plus an array of exotic and useful in-game items, priced between £19 and an eye-watering £95), its gameplay falls outside of the expected fantasy-RPG blueprint. But if you crave the camaraderie and community feel that playing an MMO (perhaps as part of a clan or guild) brings, Blade & Soul could be worth checking out.īlade & Soul doesn’t conform to many of the MMO stereotypes. Sure, South Korea has such a unique gaming culture (centred exclusively on online PC games) that what plays well over there doesn’t necessarily make sense over here. ![]() Sadly, publisher NCSoft (also an industry giant, but until now known only in the UK for the MMOs Guild Wars and Lineage) refuses to give out audience figures for it, but it’s likely that millions of gamers have played it. For Blade & Soul has consistently been among the top ten most successful games in South Korea since it launched in 2012 (and since 2013 has enjoyed similar success in China). It’s a pretty safe bet that you’ve never heard of Blade & Soul, unless you happen to be a connoisseur of massively multiplayer online games (MMOs) – in which case, the news that it has finally arrived in the UK is probably the source of much excitement. ![]() For detailed information, mouse over a cabin on the deck plans and a pop up window will appear. ![]() Nuclear winter dominates the Earth, and a handful of isolated humans try to survive in the remnants of the subway system beneath the ruins of a poisoned Moscow. You don’t necessarily need to play one to enjoy the other, but the story feels much more complete if you have, so it is recommended. The differences between Last Light and 2033 are ultimately minor, however. Settings are more colorful and feature more variety, graphics are greatly improved (especially on PC), and the story is deeper and arguably more coherent than it was before. If you enjoyed the previous game you will find the changes to be minor, but for the best. The game is exceedingly linear, which is fine for the story but curtails the game’s length. Faulty and often simple-minded enemy AI also breaks the tension at times. You never get hungry or thirsty either, despite the realistic difficulties this would cause. Surface radiation is used more as a plot contrivance than as the ever-present specter of death in real life. Where the previous game took awhile to get going, Last Light throws you right in.This is a more mature and sophisticated story, though it’s one that admittedly makes some compromises in the service of delivering a better game. It was and still is a divisive game, with some people liking the setting and the world, while others noted that it lacked punch. It had a few problems, technically and conceptually, but the finished work delivered an original story and a few gameplay tricks no one had seen before. The first game, Metro 2033, offered a fresh look at a dystopian future in which Russian survivors of a nuclear apocalypse managed to carve out a new existence in below-ground subway tunnels. In that, the series’ two games are unlike most other mainstream releases. In Metro, the world’s end is an ongoing process, and your play is wrapped around humanity’s fierce fight to hang on. Life as people knew it is over, and a harsh existence is now in its place. In franchises like Fallout or id Software’s Rage, the world is your playground. Post-apocalyptic settings aren’t new to video games, but few delve into the darkness of the end times scenario quite like Metro. Just look at the pervasive sense of gloom in Metro 2033 and its newly released follow-up, Metro: Last Light, both based on the universe created by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky. Not always, of course just like any other culture, they can be warm and optimistic as well, but Russians do bleak very well in their fiction. The Ranger difficulty is only available for purchase
